Get Involved

They say "it takes a village." And we love our village of supportive parents and volunteers! When students, families and staff are all actively involved in learning, our students do better and feel more supported. Look for ways to get involved in our school community! We can't wait to get to know you.

Positive and encouraging communication is helpful.

  • Ask students about what they are learning. Allow them to teach you.
  • Check Skyward Family Access often to avoid surprises. Homework, grades and missing assignments will be posted to Skyward.
  • Downloaded the Skyward Mobile App from Apple or Google Play.
  • Keep open lines of communication with teachers. Their email addresses are in our staff directory and in Skyward, along with your child's class schedule.

Stay active and get involved.

We hope that every student will find a co-curricular activity and get involved. Involved students do better in school.

Music programs help students find balance in their lives, bring joy, and teach responsibility and self-discipline.

Our Robotics Club provides an outlet for problem-solving, teamwork, and competition.

Our sports teams, for grades 7-8, align with future high school athletics and are a great way to stay active.

Find more ways to get involved and stay active in our Community Backpack fliers.

Volunteer or join our PTO.

Volunteering is a great way to meet other families, get to know staff and support our students.

The CMS PTO meets the first Monday of each month at 4pm in the CMS media center.  All are welcome.

If you'd like to get involved at a District level, there are a number of advisory committees and task forces, including our Community Education Advisory Committee, Teaching & Learning Advisory Committee, Strategic Planning Team, Citizens Finance Advisory Committee, and Communications Advisory.
